I co direct an energy program for the Department of Defense (the largest single purchaser of energy in the US) called the Energy Conversation. The program is sponsored by 17 government agencies and departments and addresses all issues involved with our nation's addiction to oil; the economics, politics, security implications, technologies, etc.

The world of defense is a new one for me. The community is surprisingly warm. I was raised in northern California by two artists and studied environmental science and Portuguese in Santa Barbara. Greening the UC with the California Student Sustainability Coalition was a feantastic training ground for working to change bureaucracies from the inside out. I moved to DC in Fall of '05 to pursue a career addressing climate change in whatever capacity fate might afford me. I believe in the cosmos. I believe in following passion. I believe in a better world.
