I have now seen at least a dozen television commercials and psuedo-short-documentaries and news blurbs about "how we got into this financial mess" and "what exactly is a credit crunch?" I find it to be rude, disdainful, patronizing and insulting that somehow, we (the American public) are deemed too ignorant to understand what has brought us, collectively, to the edge of financial ruin. Rural Radio Program Celebrates One Year on the Air in Nepal

program that has provided a voice for disadvantaged groups in the remote regions of Western Nepal recently completed its first full year on the air.

The program, “Constituent Assembly and Human Rights,” was launched in 2007 by the Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP), a grassroots human rights organization in Nepal, with support from The Advocacy Project (AP) in Washington. It aired its 52nd episode July 27.

Sustainable Energy Summit: The Ball is Rollin'

The sustainable energy summit on Saturday at UMass-Amherst went splendidly! Just about everyone we talked to was enthusiastic about the project, and feel it is about time something like this happened. Everyone is tired of a society that can't get its priorities straight, and are glad to see an organization dedicated to financially empowering communities.

We did a presentation to a group of about ten people and got some important feedback on the project, mostly positive and some constructive. It's interesting how sometimes those who seem like your greatest foes can be your biggest...
