Even though we live in a capitalist society, the moral obligations of helping one another need not take a back seat. Instead, we need to improve our social welfare programs so that they are efficient and SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, track-able). We need to focus on education as a preventative measure to most social problems - providing quality education free of cost to all. Education is the root of all understanding across the cultures, races, ethnic groups, age, sex, etc. Without education we are building walls around ourselves, and trapping ourselves with problems.
